Cordyline australis 'Red Star'- This subtropical, palm-like tree is exceptional and gives a nice tropical look to any setting. The sword-like, dark burgundy red foliage makes a nice contrast in mixed color plantings in the landscape or in containers. Like other Cordyline australis cultivars, ‘Red Star’ matures at about 10 to 12 feet in height. ‘Red Star’ produces large clusters of small, sweet-scented flowers in mid spring to early summer. Grows best and thrives in full sun to partial shade. Zone 9 and higher.
