Cycas revoluta Sago Palm-A unique plant that resembles a palm tree but is actually a cycad. These living fossils, members of the Cycadaceae family, dominated the landscape during the Mesozoic era over 150 million years ago. Today about 10 genera of cycads still survive. The Japanese sago, also called the sago palm is the most common. The sago palm is native to Japan’s southern most islands—a subtropical area of high rainfall and warm temperatures—similar to Florida and the Gulf Coast.

Comments I got these palms with no intention of putting them in the ground, and was afraid they would not survive in a pot, but I put these in cement pots, and they have done great. These palms require little attention, and get greener every year!
