Lychee litchi chineensis 'Brewster'-A wonderful tasting fruit tree originally from Southern China. So long improved in cultivation that wild forms are unknown. Brewster is one of the cold hardiest forms (can take temperatures down to mid 20’s for short periods) and is proven in container culture. Will flower and produce fruit in 1-2 years. Starts to flower in January and February with fruit in June and July. Slow growing in container (5 year old plant only 7’-8’ tall). Even when not in bloom plant has great look with its dark green shiny foliage.

Growing Zone:

9 and higher. "Hardiness" is the capability of a plant to survive cold temperatures. In order to provide a system for identifying the extent of cold temperatures in a particular location, the United States Departmnet of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a map that divides North America into eleven Hardiness Zones.
