Tillandsia aeranthos-Native to Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay, this air plant grow epiphytically just about anywhere. Tends to grow by itself or in small clusters of two to a dozen plants. The leaves are gray-scaly and mid-green triangular and taper to a point. The slender flower stalk comes up above the leaves. The funnel shaped flowers emerge from the center of showy bracts and are often an indigo color. Tillandsia aeranthos can be grown outdoors as long as temperatures do not drop below 45°F. For best growth mist about once a week.
