Tillandsia brachycaulos-Native to Guatemala, this epiphyte is noted for the brilliant red color of its leaves when it comes into flower. The slender leaves form a compact rosette and grow about 6 to 12 inches in height. The flowers are large and dark purple in color. Tillandsia brachycaulos  flowers from mid spring to late winter and the flowers last for several weeks. The more humidity this plant gets, the more colorful it becomes. Mist well about once a week.
