Tillandsia ionantha v. van. hyningii- Native to Central America ranging from southern Mexico to Nicaragua, this little plant is adapted to growing high in trees. The leaves are shield-shaped and grey-green giving this tiny epiphyte a dusty appearance. Tillandsia ionantha is only about 2 inches in length and does not bloom well until exposed to bright light. When given the right amount of light, you can expect purple flowers in late fall or winter. Mist well about once a week.
