Magnolia grandiflora Little Gem Magnolia- This beautiful, slow-growing ciltuvar has an upright growth habit and should reach a maximum height of 25 feet. Its similar leaf size and large flowers make it unique among magnolia cultuvars. This Little Gem produces flowers often and at a comparatively young age when compared to other magnolias. Blossoms appear from spring to late summer; flower production typically shows in intense heat. Trees bloom at young age, at only 1 to 2 years old. Zones 7 and higher.

In order to provide a system for identifying the extent of cold temperatures in a particular location, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a map that divides North America into eleven Hardiness Zones.
