Palms are planted as ornamentals for indoor and outdoor use to provide a tropical atmosphere. Phoenix sylvestris Silver Date Palm- Native to India, the Silver Date Palm grows slowly. Leafstalks are blue-green and are covered with long spines. P. sylvestris is cold hardy down to 25F. This palm is easy to grow and can thrive in hot and cold climates where it is hardy. May require trimming, depending on the look that you want. Grows best in full sun.
