Special Plants are those that we think are unique and interesting. We offer them to the adventurous gardeners who would like to add more tropical interest and color to their garden or home. Stokes Tropicals has carefully chosen a wide range of exciting tropical plants that are easy-to-grow, that are not commonly available, that have some unusual horticultural interest, and can be successfully grown in containers. We are constantly searching for new and exciting plants, particularly tropicals--from Europe, Asia, Australia, North America, and South America. Euphorbia tirucalli Sticks on Fire- A striking form of tirucalli that can reach 4 to 8 feet tall. Branches on this unique plant are as thin as pencils and a reddish-golden color that fades closer to yellow in the summer. The small leaves are inconspicuous and soon drop. Drought tolerant and hardy to about 30 to 32F. Use care when handling as the milky juice can burn the skin. Zones 10 and higher.

Growing Zone:

10 and higher. "Hardiness" is the capability of a plant to survive cold temperatures. In order to provide a system for identifying the extent of cold temperatures in a particular location, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a map that divides North America into eleven Hardiness Zones.
