Caladium bicolor Thai Beauty Caladium- This is a unique perennial from Thailand. This unusual caladium is a thin-heart shaped curly leaf with the color primarily of red, with ribs of green and white throughout. It is like nothing I have ever seen. This beauty can be compared to caladiums that you have seen traditionally, in that it is a bulb and is suitable for the home or greenhouse. It does best in bright indirect sunlight coming from the east/west/south. The tubers may be left in the ground throughout the year in Zones 10 and higher. In Zone 9, digging is recommended as tubers may be damaged in cold and wet winters. In other areas of the country, tubers must be dug up each year before frost. This Thai Beauty can be used as a bedding plant for foliage, in planter boxes, edging or pot plants.
